136 KIT WILLIAMSON: Life After “Mad Men”

Looking for Mad Men insider scoop? We’ve got it all today from what happened at casting calls to the burning question on everyone’s mind: did Don Draper really come up with “I’d Like to Buy the World a Coke?” Kit Williamson, the openly gay actor who played staffer Ed Gifford for two seasons is sad to close the Mad Men chapter of his life but is already making major headlines by announcing his engagement to fiancé John Halbach.

“We all have a right to love, a right to happiness, and a right to find a partner in life,” he says. Hailing from Mississippi, a state that maintains a gay marriage ban, Kit says being part of a program that held a mirror up to the social inequalities of the sixties activated him to speak out on today’s struggles. Kit is also the creator and star of a landmark LGBT web series EastSiders.

“Shift happens right where you are,” says LeGrande. Join the conversation at www.getboldtoday.com and share your personal story of triumph with the hashtag #getboldtoday on social media.
